Alright E.P. (feat. Slow It Down & Elijah Collins)

A 4 track nu-disco ep (24m 41s) — released October 22nd 2012 on Retrospective

After bringing together the extended family for Retrospective's first showcase compilation, label co-founders and curators Ruben & Ra follow up with a 4-tracker from the revered Glaswegian disco duo, Slow It Down and the London-based house veteran Elijah Collins .

'Alright', inspired by NV's classic from '83, marks a collaboration between Slow It Down & Elijah Collins. Following on from the trio's reworking, there's a Ruben & Ra remix that layers NV's vocal sample over original analogue riffs and a weightier bassline.

Having recently featured on the Yam Who?'s Midnight Riot Vol.2 compilation, 'I Don't Need' pumpsCherelle's 'Affair' forward by 3 decades, before the Janet Jackson-sampling'Tramadol Boogie' completes the flipside in fine style.

Finally, a big thanks to Yam Who? for sanctioning the inclusion of 'I Don't Need'
